Student Book Review: How to look for a lost dog
Title: How to look for a lost dog.
Author: Ann M Martin who has also written the ‘Babysitters Club’ series which sold 170 million copies worldwide.
Genre: Fiction but could be based on a true story.
Setting: Set in Hatford, America.
Tell about the book but don’t give away the ending:
The book is about a girl called Rose and trying to find her best dog Rain after the superstorm Susan. Rose is about 8 and she has tantrums all the time. She has a dog called Rain who Rose has a big connection to. Rose’s dad Wesley Howard let Rain outside in the superstorm without her collar to go for a wee and Rain never came back.
Tell about your favourite part of the book or make a connection:
My favourite part was when Rain jumps out of Rose’s uncles car and follows Rose into class, but Rose did not realise and everyone in Rose’s class meets Rain.
Give a recommendation:
I recommend this book ‘How to look for a lost dog” a 4.5 star rating. I love this book because it has good characters and the characters have good personalities. I think this book would suit kids aged around 10-12 years. If you like good adventure books and if you are a good reader you will love this book.

How it works: You simply borrow a book, read it and when you return it borrow another. We are starting this to share our love of reading with the community.

Student's Pick
Book Review by Alyssa.
This is the first book in a series of three that we have in the library. Alyssa really enjoyed these books! Read her review and see if this book is a good fit for you.
By Rose Lagercrantz And Eva Eriksson
This book is about a 5 year old girl who’s name is Danielle but people actually call her Dani.
Dani has a best friend called Ella but one day Ella had to move away with her mum and dad. Dani was really sad since Ella had moved away Dani started to have bad stuff happen to her like being tackled to the ground. She never forgot about Ella but in the end something good actually happened to Dani.
From 1 to 10 I pick a 8.
I recommend this for girls who like to have a little adventure and happy and sad stories.

Thank you
A huge thank you to Eden and Hayley for donating "Jampires" to the library. Everyone loved this book! The children drew pictures and designed traps to catch Jampires.
